Is ProPresenter free? The trial and licence explained

How the watermarked mode, 14-day no-watermark trial, current subscriptions, seats and older perpetual licences differ.

Is ProPresenter free? The trial and licence explained

ProPresenter can be downloaded without paying first, but there are three different states that are easy to mix up: the watermarked evaluation mode, Renewed Vision's time-limited trial, and an active paid subscription or legacy licence. For new purchases today, ProPresenter is sold as a subscription.

The free, watermarked mode

You can install ProPresenter and explore the interface, build content and test a workflow without first purchasing a subscription. When the software is not authorized for clean output, audience output is watermarked. That makes this mode useful for learning and preparation, not for a live service or event.

  • Build libraries, playlists, themes and slide templates
  • Import songs, scripture, images and video
  • Test screens and media performance on your own hardware
  • Train operators before committing to a purchase

The official 14-day trial has no watermark

Renewed Vision offers a 14-day fully registered trial. According to the vendor, the trial has no watermark and can be used in front of a live audience. The trial begins as soon as the request process is completed, and Renewed Vision limits it to one two-week trial per organization.

Which option is for what?

Watermarked mode: learn and test. 14-day trial: evaluate the fully registered product. Subscription or eligible legacy licence: ongoing production use.

How current ProPresenter subscriptions work

Renewed Vision states that new ProPresenter purchases are subscription-only. Plans are billed monthly or annually, and the exact pricing can change, so use the vendor's current pricing page rather than an old figure copied into a guide.

  • Seats matter. Each production computer that needs an active subscription seat should be included in your plan.
  • Sign-in happens inside ProPresenter. Subscription users authenticate in ProPresenter Settings and select an available seat for the machine.
  • Subscription releases. Renewed Vision says an active ProPresenter subscription grants access to releases beginning with version 17.
  • Seat management. Organizations with active subscriptions can manage users and seats through Renewed Vision's account tools.

What about older perpetual licences?

Teams that purchased older ProPresenter versions may still have an unlock code or licence key. That legacy registration model is different from the current subscription sign-in model. Do not assume an old version 6 or 7 licence automatically grants the current release, and do not deactivate a working production machine until you understand how its legacy seat is registered.

Is it worth it for a small church?

Evaluate the workflow before you budget around it. Install ProPresenter, request the official trial when you are ready to test clean output, build one realistic service and run it on the exact screens and media your volunteers will use. If the software makes live changes, stage cues and media control meaningfully easier, then compare the current subscription options with the alternatives you would actually use.

Avoid cracked or repackaged copies

Unofficial cracks, key generators and repackaged installers create both security and reliability risks on a production computer. Use Renewed Vision's official download, the watermarked mode for learning, and the official trial for a no-watermark evaluation.
