Short answer: ProPresenter is currently in the 21.x release family. At our 30 August 2026 source review, Renewed Vision's official download page listed 21.4 / 21.4.2 at the top of its version history. The exact build can change quickly, so the vendor download page should be your final check before installing or updating.

Why the numbering looks confusing
ProPresenter's version history does not run from ProPresenter 7 to 8, 9, 10 and so on. Renewed Vision's official history shows the late 7.x sequence ending at 7.16.3, followed by major release numbers 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21. That is why searches for “ProPresenter 8” or “ProPresenter 16” can be misleading: those were not separate major generations in the current release history.
Which version should a new installation use?
For a normal new installation, start with the current release offered by Renewed Vision unless you have a documented compatibility reason to stay on an older build. The official download page provides both current and previous versions, which is more reliable than downloading an old installer from a mirror.
If the machine is used for a live service or event, do not treat “latest” as automatically “install immediately.” Read the release notes, back up the working configuration and update during a test window rather than just before production.
How to check your installed version
Open ProPresenter and use the application's About information to identify the version installed on that machine. Compare it with Renewed Vision's current download and version-history page. If you manage several production computers, record the version on each one so you know which machine was actually tested.
When an older version can make sense
An older build may be appropriate when a production workflow depends on hardware, operating-system compatibility or a legacy licence that you have already tested. That is different from staying old by accident. Keep a copy of the working installer and a backup of the show data before changing a stable legacy machine.

Do not download “latest versions” from unofficial mirrors
Version-number searches attract repackaged installers, cracks and download mirrors. Use Renewed Vision's own download page for the current build and its previous-version list. This site does not host or repackage ProPresenter installers.
A simple update routine for production machines
- Read the vendor release notes for the version you plan to install.
- Back up or sync the ProPresenter data you cannot afford to lose.
- Update away from the next live event.
- Open the real service file and test media, audience outputs, stage displays and any streaming/NDI path.
- Keep the previous working installer or recovery path until the new build has completed a real rehearsal.
