What Media Formats Are Supported by ProPresenter?

ProPresenter supports common image, video, and audio formats, but “supported” does not guarantee that every file will play smoothly on every computer. Codec details, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, alpha channel, storage speed, and graphics hardware affect reliability.

Formats listed by Renewed Vision

The official support material lists common image formats such as JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and HEIC; video containers including MOV and MP4; and audio formats including MP3 and AAC. Specialized alpha-video workflows require compatible formats and hardware.

Best practice for live playback

  • Test every media file on the actual presentation computer.
  • Avoid last-minute playback from an untested USB drive.
  • Keep resolution and bitrate appropriate for the outputs.
  • Transcode unreliable files to a known working format before the event.
